Houses lined up

Gables to harbour

Shoulders to the wind.

This Port was built for storms.

In the photograph

I smile.

Facing the camera.

A moment before everything changes.

Beyond, the sunshine breaks over creels.

And the light splinters into a million pieces.

Today is fragile and beautiful.

Tomorrow, we’ll weather the storm.
